Dye a Scarf with Jitka Nespor

 A Jitka Nespor Scarf You will have an opportunity to learn how to use common kitchen discards and locally collected plant materials to dye a silk scarf. There will be 2 sessions during the day (Saturday) starting at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Pottery refurbishment almost concluded & pottery open again tomorrow, 27th.

pics of our refurbishment progress, and that said, today is your very last chance to sign up for fiona's pottery course which starts tomorrow at 10.30. the pottery is open again at the usual times .  beginning  floorpainting !  refurbishment almost done and pottery already in use :) some people can't wait of course. also, workbench by the window. now we have a special glazesroom: and the glazestongue is back :) #woohoo

Demonstration by Jasmina Ajzenkol ARBSA Sculptures. Clay. Discover how Jasmina makes the wonderful textured ceramic artworks on display in her ground floor solo show. Free, drop-in session, no need to book Time 08 October 2016 11am - 1pm 2 - 4pm RBSA Gallery 4 Brook Street Birmingham B3 1SA Jasmina lives in Solihull, UK where she has been working as a geotechnical engineer for nearly thirty years. She first discovered clay when she enrolled in an evening class, and fell in love as soon as she experienced the tactility of clay and its immediate response to her hands. She later obtained a City and Guilds certificate in Design and Craft in the context of ceramics. Jasmina's work is inspired by nature and life forms. The shapes of seedpods, shells and other underwater creatures have influenced her vessel forms. The rhythm of the landscape, such as the patterns created by wind blowing across the sand, or the rhythmic gradation of the beach from sand to gravel arranged in carefully sor

Pottery closed for refurbishment until 26th September

Sundragon will be closed until Monday 26th September for refurbishment. We do this to increase work space and you can monitor the progress on instagram . You can still book a place at Fiona's pottery for beginners course which will start in our nicely done up pottery :)

Pottery for Beginners: Workshop with Fiona Scanlan

This is a taught session starting Tuesday 27th September for 10 weeks (half term break 25th October). Times -10.30-12.30. Cost £90 + cost of completed items (30p per 100 g - this includes cost of clay, glaze and 2 firings). Students will learn hand building techniques - pinching, coiling, slabbing, press moulding, explore texture and decoration and be able to take completed items home.
